Oakley Moran is a small general firm of highly experienced practitioners with particular emphasis in areas of employment, local government, civil litigation, media and property work.

Firm History

Oakley Moran is the successor to a series of Lower Hutt and Wellington legal practices whose origins can be
traced back over 100 years. The present firm has its origins in the merger in January 1986 of the former firms of Hogg, Gillespie, Carter and Oakley (who practiced both at Lower Hutt and Wellington) and Goddard, Moran and Finlayson (who practiced in Wellington). The present firm was formed on 1 April 2018.

John has been a partner of Oakley Moran since its inception and has over 40 years legal experience.

John's interests include cricket, theatre, music and reading.

Peter Cranney

Practices in the area of employment law; principally for Unions. Before becoming a lawyer, Peter had a long and extensive association with Unions in various roles as organiser, editor of union newspaper, negotiator/advocate, administrator and researcher.

Peter has been a partner of Oakley Moran since 2002 and has more than 15 years legal experience.

Peter's interests include cricket.

Warren Wooi Hoo Lim

Warren has been a partner of Oakley Moran since 2002 and has more than 20 years legal experience.

Anthea Jane Connor

Specialises in employment law and general litigation including family and criminal law.

Currently retained by a range of clients for employment agreement and labour relations advice and negotiations.
